Several times you have requested feedback regarding the 30-liter SportFridge DC refrigerator I bought from you in 2001. As you may recall, I asked you to modify the exterior depth of the 35-liter model so that I could install the SportFridge unit in the seat compartment of my MacGregor 26X sailboat in the spave below the aft cabin seat in place of the ice chest that comes with the boat. You lowered the exterior height of the refrigerator to 16 ½ inches instead of the normal 18 inches. The result of this modification allowed me to build a plywood platform rack which fit the inside hull curvature of the boat and the flat bottom of the SportFridge.
I am tickled pink with the SportFridge. While I have two batteries on the boat, I have never had to switch over to the backup battery. Even when I am sailing with my wife instead of trolling for salmon or trout, the low amp draw of the SportFridge never taxes the main battery.
This past summer, I caught a 36 inch king salmon which I steaked out. The SportFridge put my mind at ease in terms of getting the salmon steaks home without worrying about ice every day during our vacation. Of course we enjoyed fresh grilled salmon from the refrigerator while vacationing.
The two Big Jon downriggers that I attached to the 26X McGreggor sailboat caught the eyes of other boaters, but it is the SportFridge refrigerator that makes sailing and fishing even more enjoyable providing cold beverages, food, and well preserved catches.
Thank you for building such a good product.
